Hi Rick,

Just a note to let you know that we cooked up some Sheepshead tonight and it was awesome. We fried it it tempura batter and it was so tasty … no fishy taste at all. Hope to fish with you again soon; considering that Bev got ill and the waters were rough (both out of our control) it was a blast. Thanks for your guidance, all your effort and a great time!

Redfish had completely shut down so we switched gears and went after Spanish Mackerel, which according to our guide Captain Rick, had migrated in much earlier than usual this year.  Credit to him for improvising and getting us on some fish under less than ideal weather conditions.  Once we found the Mackerel, there were fish surfacing everywhere.  Hook ups almost every cast.  Fish are small and very colorful (despite how ugly they get after they’ve sat in the cooler for a while) and fun to catch on light tackle.  Overall we probably got 60 in the boat.  Came home with a cooler full of fish and another great experience.

Awesome trip with Captain Rick Kraft in Galveston.  Sharks ranged from 65 - 145 lbs.  We fished for 4 hours, lost count and were completely whooped by the end of the trip. 

 

“Pass the ibuprofen, my arms are killing me from bringing in this HUGE fish.” (Just kidding!)
We’re working on finding a date to go out with y’all again this summer.

The day my dad and I went fishing with Capt. Rick was amazing. I couldnt believe I caught that many fish. It felt like some kind of a miracle, even Capt. Rick couldn’t believe it. BEST DAY EVER

Thanks for a GREAT shark fishing trip. I’ve thought of all my fishing experiences and this was the best ever.  I truly appreciate how great you worked with Katie.  She is ready to go again, and so am I.

From the Galveston County Daily news:
Ruben Toong was treated to a nice 40th wedding anniversary by his son, Frankie, who hosted his father, brother, Ruben Jr., and his brother-in-law, Cosmos, to a guided fishing trip by Capt. Rick Kraft.

Fishing areas out of the Galveston Yacht Basin, the family celebrated the big anniversary by catching 33 Spanish mackerel to 29 inches, along with a speck and sheepshead.
